About Me

I am Ella Fryer, a public relations expert from the University of Oklahoma, BOOMER SOONER! My passion for PR started in my junior year of high school when I participated in a pageant at my high school. I found out I loved collaboration and communication with all types of people.

I started a wedding content creation business, called Content by Ella K , my sophomore year of college that quickly took off and had me holding multiple hats. I learned fast how to write blogs, and create social media captions. Communicate with clients verbally and in written form and I also had to create pitches for my business because wedding content creation is a new add-on in the wedding industry. I specialize in verbal and written communication with clients, content creation, and wedding blogs.

Choosing PR

My favorite thing about PR is that every day looks different on the job. From writing press releases to hosting major events there is always a creative outlet in this field of study.

I have found there are various avenues to be part of in PR and that is what drew me into this major in the first place. I chose PR because I knew I wanted a broad major but I also wanted to focus in on an area where I could work and communicate with people in real work every day. Attending Gaylord College has given me the confidence to excel in this area of study and I look forward to continuously learning more about public relations throughout my life.

Looking out for the best interest of people and a company is ultimately what keeps my passion for PR alive. PR practitioner's job is to best represent the client to ultimately have a better impact on others. I think so often a job can seem small but looking at the greater goal, of representing your client well can change my mentality when working in PR.

Personal Life

On campus, I am involved in Greek Life and am part of the sorority Kappa Alpha Theta. I spend a lot of time investing in our philanthropy CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. Last year, I was the philanthropy director and put on fundraising events for South Central CASA. It was a rewarding experience that allowed me to expand my knowledge of how to put on events and work with various types of people.

I also volunteer at my church weekly by leading a small group for middle school girls. One of my favorite things about this week is that I get the opportunity to get away from the typical college work life and just spend time with middle school girls. Serving others is very close to my heart so I am constantly looking for new ways to give back to the community.
